Data from 2017: 58 Chinese cities owning over 1 million cars

On January 15, 018, the Traffic Management Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security released statistical data on the number of motor vehicles in China in 2017.

With the sustained and rapid development of China’s economy and society, the number of motor vehicles has continued to grow rapidly.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Public Security, as of the end of 2017, the number of motor vehicles in the country reached 310 million, of which 217 million were vehicles.

In 2017, 33.52 million motor vehicles were newly registered in the public security traffic management department, of which 28.13 million were newly registered vehicles, all hitting a record high.

随着我国经济社会持续快速发展，机动车保有量继续保持快速增长态势 ，据公安部统计，截至2017年底，全国机动车保有量达3.10亿辆，其中汽车2.17亿辆。2017年在公安交通管理部门新注册登记的机动车3352万辆，其中新注册登记汽车2813万辆，均创历史新高。
