Xpeng P5

The Chinese Xpeng has plans to appropriate a hefty point of the European electric car pie. The brand has already set foot in Norway with a compact electric crossover. Xpeng is now pulling the curtain on a new production model, an electric sedan that could make life difficult for the Tesla Model 3.

The P5 is 4.81 meters long, 1.84 meters wide and has a wheelbase of 2.77 meters. This makes it only 7 centimeters shorter than the large sedan P7, which has a 23 centimeters longer wheelbase. Xpeng is still keeping extensive technical specifications under its cap, although the brand does indicate that the car has to go about 600 kilometers on one battery charge. The P5, which will only officially go on sale next year, has a luggage compartment of 450 liters and is equipped with, among other things, what Xpeng calls ‘Xpilot 3.5’, a more extensive version of the autonomous driving system (Xpilot 3.0) that is in the P7.
