135,000 heavily wounded per year in 28 EU countries

The number of people affected by road accidents in the European Union must be halved by 2030 compared with 2020. This target posed the 28 EU transport ministers in Luxembourg on Thursday. There are now around 135,000 annually. More attention should be given to cyclists and pedestrians.

The Netherlands is one of the safest countries in the EU with 33 traffic deaths per million inhabitants.
