Foton exports over 40000 vehicles in 2012


Beiqi Foton, China’s largest commercial vehicle enterprise, announced that it exported over 40,000 vehicles in 2012, Beijing Business Today reported today. The amount represents year-on-year growth of 17 percent for the manufacturer, making it the country’s second largest automobile exporter last year.

The Ministry of Commerce-published International Business Daily newspaper voted Foton as China’s most competitive exporter in 2012. Foton, whose headquarters and key research and marketing operations are located in Beijing, possesses branches in countries all across the world. To date, Foton has established subsidiary research centers in Japan, Germany and other countries, as well as business departments in India and Russia. Furthermore, the manufacturer has set up knockdown factories in over 20 countries. Foton vehicles are sold in over 90 different countries and regions worldwide, with the manufacturer possessing over 240 official sales networks, 980 individual dealerships and 770 service centers across the globe.

Foton plans to sell over four million vehicles globally in 2020, with exports accounting for over 30 percent of its total sales. The manufacturer also aims to become one of the world’s top ten automobile enterprises by that time.

Chinese products account for 11 percent of all exports worldwide in 2012, making the country the world’s fifth largest exporter for the year.
